Securing Your Account: A Guide to NewReality In Stage 2FA Security Feature

Online security threats are on the rise, and even demo platforms can be attractive targets for attackers seeking to hijack accounts, manipulate token balances, or undermine trust. At NewReality PTC, we take your safety seriously. That’s why we offer a robust Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) feature alongside other best practices to protect your account. This guide explains why 2FA matters, how to enable it, and additional steps you can take to keep your demo tokens—and your personal information—safe.

Why Two-Factor Authentication Matters

Traditional username-and-password logins are increasingly vulnerable to:
Phishing attacks, where malicious sites trick you into revealing credentials
Password reuse incidents, where stolen credentials from one service grant access to another
Brute-force attempts, automated tools that rapidly guess weak passwords

With 2FA, you add a second layer of security. Even if an attacker obtains your password, they still need a one-time code from your trusted device to log in. This dramatically reduces the chances of unauthorized access.

How 2FA Works on NewReality PTC

Standard Login: Enter your email and password as usual.

One-Time Code Prompt: After submitting your credentials, you’ll be asked to provide a 6-digit code generated by an authenticator app on your smartphone.

Successful Verification: Once you enter the correct code, you gain full access to your account.

The codes refresh every 30 seconds and never travel over the internet—only your device and our server know the secret shared key.

Enabling 2FA in Three Simple Steps

Install an Authenticator App: Use Google Authenticator, Authy, or Microsoft Authenticator on your iOS or Android device.

Scan the QR Code: In your NewReality PTC dashboard, navigate to Account Settings ➔ Security and click Enable 2FA. Scan the displayed QR code with your app.

Backup Your Recovery Codes: We’ll provide one-time use backup codes. Store them in a safe place (printed or in a password manager). These allow access if you lose your device.

That’s it—your account is now protected by 2FA.

Additional Security Best Practices

Beyond 2FA, consider these measures for comprehensive protection:

Use a Unique, Strong Password: Combine uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols. Aim for at least 12 characters and never reuse passwords across sites.

Enable Email Alerts: Turn on notifications for logins from new devices or IP addresses in Account Settings ➔ Notifications.

Regularly Review Your Active Sessions: Check Account Settings ➔ Active Sessions and log out of any unrecognized devices.

Keep Your Device Secure: Lock your phone with a PIN or biometric, and install OS updates and antivirus software promptly.

Beware of Phishing: Always verify you’re on the official newreality.stage domain before entering credentials or 2FA codes. Never share codes with anyone.

What to Do If You Lose Your Authenticator Device

Use Your Backup Codes: Enter one of the printed recovery codes at the 2FA prompt.

Contact Support: If you’ve used all backup codes, email us at [email protected] with proof of identity (registered email and context) for manual recovery.

The Benefits of a Secure Sandbox Experience

Peace of Mind: Focus on testing your pay-per-click strategies without worrying about account compromises.

Data Integrity: Keep your demo token balances, transaction history, and performance reports accurate and untampered.

Platform Trust: A strong security posture helps maintain a healthy user community and reliable analytics for all participants.

Implementing Two-Factor Authentication is one of the easiest and most effective ways to secure your NewReality PTC. By combining 2FA with strong passwords, device security, and vigilant habits, you’ll safeguard your demo-token experiments and contribute to a safer sandbox environment for everyone. Enable 2FA today, and take control of your online security!
